I Take The Scenic Route

Dusty roads have a subtle existence between here and there. They are slow and less travelled than the black-top interstates where speed and directness are king.

The dry, dusty roads call to me. Every meandering curve reminds me that I have purpose. Each bump tells me that criticism can be met with grace, for all may not understand my path, and it’s okay.

I am brave out there where the rubber meets the dirt.

As a creative person, I find it challenging to focus my energy on just one thing. The world is full of new things to learn and experience that one life-time is simply not enough to experience it all … but I do my best! I’m a solo traveler, writer, photographer, hiker, camper, mother, lover, traveler, student of love and life.

This website serves as a platform to share my journey with others through images, stories, dreams, reflections, destinations, realities, insights and tidbits.

How travel became my life

The yearning to experince things outside of my own bubble has many entry points.

One of the most memorable is when I began to make plans for my two children and me to move to Mexico in 1999; fearless and determined to catapult us out of the “American way” into a different cultural experience, to open boundaries and loosen borders.

That particular move from Denver to Cabo never became reality, but it lit a wildfire in my belly. Twenty years later, it still burns.
